"I'm disappointed with the penalty, but I understand the stewards' decision," Sainz said. "I made a mistake and I paid the price for it." Sainz also believes that he could have won the race if he had pitted one lap later than he did. "I think I could have won the race if I had pitted one lap later," Sainz said. "I was catching the leaders and I think I would have had a good chance of overtaking them." Despite the disappointment of the penalty, Sainz is still optimistic about the rest of the season.
