Carlo Acutis: Young Computer Proclaimed "God's Influencer" on Path to Sainthood

Catholic Church Recognizes Second Miracle for Carlo's Canonization

Roman Catholic Church advances the cause for Carlo Acutis, an Italian teenager and computer whiz, to become a saint.

Pope Francis recognized a second miracle necessary for the canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis on May 23, 2024. Carlo Acutis, known as "God's influencer," died of leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15. The miracle is attributed to the intercession of Blessed Acutis and involves the healing of a woman from Costa Rica. If the miracle is confirmed, Carlo Acutis could become the first millennial saint.

Carlo Acutis was known for his deep faith and love for the Eucharist. He was also a computer prodigy who used his skills to create a website about Eucharistic miracles. Carlo Acutis died on October 12, 2006, just days after being diagnosed with leukemia. He was beatified in 2020, and his canonization would mark a significant milestone for the Catholic Church.

The Catholic Church requires two recognized miracles for a person to be canonized as a saint. Carlo Acutis is one step closer to becoming the first millennial saint, with the recognition of the second miracle attributed to his intercession.
